Frequently Asked Questions &
Contacting Acts Leadership
FAQ'S:
-
I have tried everything to overcome my personal trials such as PTSD, alcoholism, or drug use, lack of faith, divorce, depression, anxiety, and lack of purpose. How can the Acts ministry claim to have a solution for me? The Acts ministry will provide you with a greater purpose for God's plan to use you and your trials to serve others. Then Acts will bring you financial blessings for serving up to 12 of your Brothers or Sisters in Christ. This was the teachings of Christ in the New Testament. We are healed when we serve others. The ancient term was called Servant-hood but the Church does not generally provide lay ministry discipleship with a biblical calling for compensation. This is why we support the local church; by activating their congregations and even increase local church tithing.
-
AM I QUALIFIED FOR A MINISTRY POSITION? All Christian believers are qualified by their faith in Christ and by their own real-life experience with human trials. In fact, the Bible teaches that all Christians are to be actively making Disciples (Mentoring other believers). This is what heals and motivates us when we serve others with similar trials. Acts will appoint other Christians from around the world for you to connect with and share your faith on your own private personal Spiritual Media discipleship page found here on the Legacy Group "Ministry Feed." There is no formal education or experience necessary to become certified. Come as you are.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACTS MINISTRY AND MY TRADITIONAL CHURCH SERVICES? Acts is a discipleship training and mentoring service that replicates the original Acts 2:42-47 house church and follows the teaching of Christ in obedience to the Great Commission. Acts will Act-ivate congregations and offers financial support to the Acts Minister and to your local Christian Church. The traditional church provides us with Assembly, Praise & Worship, Preaching the Word, and other programs to re-charge us for the daily discipleship ministry lifestyle. Additional to the traditional church and critical to obedience to the commandment from Christ is Discipleship Multiplication through a Lifestyle of passionate ministry. Acts provides this missing link in the training, mentoring, disciplines (discipleship), counseling, unity of all denominations, and financial support needed to fulfill the Great Commission.
-
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A "Disciple" AND "Minister?" Disciples are those who are actively being discipled by their appointed Mentor and Acts Leadership. Ministers are employees that have completed initial training, are certified, and have begun to Disciple/Mentor other Disciples.
-
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A "CERTIFIED MINISTER" FOR A SALARIED POSITION? A: First let us make a comparison to the traditional church job opportunity. The average passionate Christian that loves to serve at the church will never receive a wage sufficient to provide for their family, ever. Other than pastors or administrative low paying positions the church will take years to offer any minister a decent salary to lead small groups and make Sunday announcements, etc. The Acts minister will begin receiving a part-time salary at $20 to $40/hour within the first year. Every new Acts Disciple will be qualified for the monthly ministry support income as soon as they are mentoring 3 or more disciples and the funding begins according to seniority (when the Application was submitted and funds are accounted for). Ministry Support and Salaries will begin at the part-time positions and increase as your Legacy Groups are developed, and/or other ministry services provided. Expense accounts and/or salaries will continue for the remaining life of the Minister's employment even if there is a disability, illness, vacations, paternity leave, or the need for family time during any crisis.
-
IS THERE A RETIREMENT PLAN? We believe that ministerial "retirement" is at our time of death. We can always serve Christ as a lifestyle beyond the secular definition of "productive years." However, if the Acts full-time minister has gone to be with the Lord, the Acts leadership will cover the work of that employee and continue to pay the same wages to the spouse for as long as necessary to assure our beloved widows/widowers feel the love of Jesus until they also go to be with Him.
-
HOW MUCH TIME DO THE PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME SALARIES REQUIRE? A: Part-time positions generally start with 30 minutes a day on-line with some additional time for a few telephone calls. Employees will check in each day on the Acts "Ministry Feed" spiritual media page. Your discipleship ministry is the Christ-like model for discipleship multiplication and is flexible to your own time availability. As your Legacy Group of 12 is developed you will become a very effective discipler and the Acts leadership team will teach you time management skills and choosing your favorite and passionate ministries. (Please refer to the Acts Employment-Ministry Overview and Salaries page)
-
DO I HAVE TO RECRUIT MY DISCIPLES? A: No. Recruiting is not permitted. You will, however, want to share this most important ministry and certainly may invite your Brothers/Sisters to apply. Applicants who are referred by you are not placed in your own Legacy Group unless they designate you as a preferred Mentor on their application. Acts will be appointing new disciples to your Legacy Group. Always try to go forth in two's and have your Mentor, an Acts Co-Mentor, or a Senior Counselor be present or on a conference call, video session, etc when sharing this ministry. Your mentor and the Acts team will be supporting your Legacy Group development and although you will not be recruiting any of your own disciples, we believe that there is a responsibility to encourage all believers to Act-ivate their faith in a discipleship ministry.
-
WHAT IS THE COST FOR TRAINING? A: We believe our real-life discipleship mentoring certifications are more valuable to church employers than most college degrees for a fraction of the cost. We ask that Christians make a small weekly offering of $28 for a short time (2 to 3 months) to become certified as a Discipleship Minister. The certification also qualifies you for employment with Acts Ministry. Our employees are not required to pay tuition for their continued education/training and certifications. We do encourage them to tithe monthly support for continued ministry training certifications, spiritual gifts testing, professional temperament profiling, becoming a certified counselor, minister's ordination, and other leadership support. Your Mentor and Acts administration will assist with the discipling/mentoring of all of your disciples. You will then begin receiving a ministry support check each month to cover ministry expenses such as car expenses, cell phone, lunches, etc.
-
WHICH MINISTRY IS REQUIRED? A: This is the greatest part of Acts Ministry! You will choose the most passionate activities and apply Christlike servanthood to your favorite lifestyle. Generally, we are not gifted preachers or professional teachers but rather leading others as lay ministers. As new small groups develop you may be appointed to assist or lead in whatever ministry that you are gifted in. All Christians are called to be in discipleship ministry and this can be exercised in many different activities as listed on the Home page.
-
WHAT IF THERE IS NO LEADER IN MY AREA? You can be mentored/discipled by phone, web cam, emails, texting, Skype, and Zoom until there is a Mentor in your area or you are ready to lead a small group setting.
-
CAN I MENTOR/DISCIPLE FAMILY MEMBERS? This is a great way to bring families closer together and glorify the Father.
-
CAN I DISCIPLE MY SPOUSE? Yes. This is God's first and most intimate covenant with his people. CAN MY SPOUSE ALSO HAVE A SEPARATE MINISTRY WITH ADDITIONAL SALARY? Yes.
-
Will I BE MENTORING THE OPPOSITE GENDER? Generally, this is not acceptable however, you may disciple Brothers and Sisters from the opposite sex as long as they are your blood relative. There must be absolute respect and confidentiality for the Mentor/Mentee relationship. Mentoring/Discipleship can be practiced through electronic communication for unlocking Spiritual Keys and the Acts leadership is available to help all ministers practice a Christlike discipline. There are required training and testing on the laws concerning sexual harassment.
-
Can I VOLUNTEER WITHOUT SALARIES? Yes and no. We do not recommend this as a long term ministry due to the lack of gaining a more professional responsibility and accountability for your discipleship ministry. Jesus taught more on the subject of money than He did on salvation. This most critical subject of volunteering is a wonderful service to the church yet, there is always a stronger sense of service, a more positive witness, a much stronger sense of responsibility, accountability, and much less worry or stress when the Lord is blessing His ministers financially.
-
WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE CONSIDERED A FORMAL MINISTRY? The purpose of discipleship is to bring Christ into your most passionate activities that may include bible study groups, sports and recreational activities, community outreach, Koinonia fellowship, and any group activity where 2 or more are gathered with the focus on Christ.
